| As part of this years Sea Week activities we intend to hold an exhibition of small artworks by local and national artists to be held in the Conamara National Park visitors centre on 16 to 26 October 2009.
We have decided to limit the size of each piece to a maximum of 21cm x 21cm. This will not only allow us to utilise the limited amount of space available to us but hope that the limitation in terms of size may act as a stimulus to an innovative approach to the works themselves.
Further to this we propose that the work will appear anonymously and should be signed only on the back. Each piece will be sold for a set amount of 70 euro with a set commission of 10% to support Conamara Sea Week. This, we hope, will create a level playing field between established and non-established artists and will encourage new talent while giving the local community access to works at a reasonable price.
GUIDELINES
- A maximum of two works by each artist to be submitted.
- The maximum width or height of each work not to exceed 21 x 21cm.
- Work should be signed on back and include title, artist name, media details, contact details and hanging supports (i.e. hooks, pins, velcro etc if necessary).
- Work should be unframed.
- Work should be delivered to Conamara National Park on Friday October 9th.
- Unsold work may be collected on October 27 2009 or forwarded as requested.
