Born in Dublin, started her working life as a laboratory technician but always had an intense love of art in any shape or form. She is now undertaking a BA in Fine Art in GMIT and finds her inspiration in the mountains and coastlines of Galway and Mayo.
Breda has worked in the medium of batik for the past twenty years and this technique has had a significant influence on her present depiction of the landscape.
There are very few areas left in this land where one can observe no trace of human habitation. To stand in this locus is to experience a deep sense of aloneness as opposed to loneliness. To be engulfed by such a vista is to bear witness to a rare and wondrous place.
